Cat Museum

中浜稔猫美術館

Right next to the bus station in Higashiura is this museum dedicated to cat art. If paintings, sculptures, and models of cats get your heart racing, you will be on top of the moon here. As far as I’m aware, there are no live cats in the museum, but spend enough time on Awaji and you’re certain to bump into some feral cats anyway.

Entrance is 600¥.

Awaji, like the rest of Japan, is suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic. While many things on Awaji are functioning normally, there are still some lingering issues that visitors should be aware of.
